Aberdeen / £40,000 to £45,000

Due to huge success and the subsequent expansion this unique opportunity has arisen to work with the market leaders in providing chemical, engineering and technology solutions to the global hydrocarbon recovery and processing industries.

Background
This position reports internally to the UK District Manager.
Reporting to the Account Manager are;
• Field Chemists
• Project Coordinator
• Chemical Support Coordinator
• Technical Service Support Team Personnel (3)

A breakdown of specific job functions is detailed below. For clarity, the work scope and responsibility
have been split into three sections as follows:-
1) General Service related
2) Laboratory Management services
3) Provision of commodity chemicals

1. General Service related
The Account Manager will be responsible for all aspects of overall chemical management on
Oil Field platforms not directly covered by offshore operations. The associated work
scope and responsibilities are as follows:-

1.1 Responsible for delivery of the overall chemical supply and management service to an
agreed service level
1.2 Preparation of chemical supply and management service budget
1.3 Responsible for monitoring chemical usage and performance and taking appropriate
action when necessary to ensure that acceptable performance and usage /costs are
maintained within agreed targets
1.4 Identify and progress treatment optimisation programmes ensuring that “best in class”
options are used.
1.5 Provide monthly reports to an agreed format which, as a minimum, will include chemical
usage/ costs and process performance versus agreed targets.
1.6 Provide assistance with preparation of chemical permits and assume responsibility for
generation of associated quarterly reports and permit variation requests.
Account Manager Typical Workscope

1.7 Routine tracking and optimisation of scale inhibitor squeeze treatment performance. As a
minimum should include
• Preparation of a weekly squeeze summary report, aimed at identifying anticipated
resqueeze timetable and any immediate actions required to address changing
conditions.
• A formal quarterly review of downhole scaling conditions across the field to ensure
that effective scale control measures are in place in all wells and details of proposed
optimisation plans
1.8 Provision of chemical treatment designs and technical support for adhoc topside and
downhole applications
1.9 Ownership of chemical stock management and responsibility for ordering chemicals via
SAP, as required to meet agreed offshore stock/usage requirements
1.10 Provision of transit tank management services, including responsibility for ensuring

    compliance with Oil Company’s certification requirements
1.11 Provision and management of chemicals required for Third party fields tied back to the
Oil Platforms (as necessary)
1.12 Provision of suitably qualified high quality personnel to meet both the offshore and
onshore requirements of the contract
1.13 Responsibility for day to day management of commodity chemical issues even if
commodity chemicals are being supplied by a 3rd Party
1.14 Management of Chemical Custodian services as required under the contract
1.15 Implementation of safety culture and adherence to Oil Companies
policies as are effective.

2. Laboratory Management services
2.1.2 Responsible for delivery of the overall Laboratory Management services to
an agreed service level
2.1.3 Management and supervision of the Chemical Support Coordinator
2.1.4 Ensuring Laboratory procedures are revised and amended annually to reflect
changing requirements
2.1.5 Ensure Appropriate equipment is available in the offshore laboratories to
carry out required analysis and that the necessary calibration checks are
carried out as specified e.g. Quarterly oil in water intercalibration
2.1.6 Control of schedule of analysis document to include updating as required to
reflect changing requirement and monitoring to ensure analysis requirement
is been met
2.1.7 Arranging ad hoc offshore laboratory manning if/when necessary
2.1.8 Onshore analysis management including
• Maintain analysis register
• Advise of analysis requirements
• Maintain results data base e.g. water chemistry deposit analysis etc

3. Provision of Commodity Chemicals
Supply of all commodity chemicals required to meet the Oil field requirements as
detailed by Oil Company
Ensure that sufficient stocks of chemicals are maintained at the vendor’s premises to
meet Oil Company’s call off requirements
Ensure that all products supplied comply with Offshore Chemical and CHiP
requirements
Where appropriate provide assistance with environmental and COSHH assessments
Ensure that all products meet agreed specifications
Provide monthly report detailing quantity and cost of all chemical supplied
Ensure compliance with Oil Company’s transit certification requirements and
provide a weekly tank status report
Provision of suitably high qualified personnel and facilities to resolve any problems
encountered with commodity chemicals applications
