Our client, a large NHS Trust seeks to appoint an Assistant Director Business Development. The job holder will an integral part of the business arm of the Trust but will also be expected to work closely with clinicians, senior managers, ward managers and budget holders, performing a key role in the success, development and delivery of new developments. He /she will also develop financial and business knowledge and awareness within the Trust, identifying and delivering the training needs of staff as appropriate.
Main Responsibilities:
To produce high quality business plans/cases ready for The Business & Finance Committee and the Board of Directors to approve.
To provide expert, specialist and in depth business and financial management advice for teams or services to build business plans/cases around.
To assess business plans/cases for risk and alignment to overall Trust objectives.
To ensure business plans/cases fit with long term financial stability and viability for existing services and new business developments, by leading and co-ordinating the financial and qualitative appraisal.
Responsible for option appraisals of proposed service changes/developments, facilitating the production of financially viable business plans/cases for medium and long term developments.
Responsible for co-ordinating and delivering on service tenders where required by commissioners and external agencies, prisons etc.
Conduct risk assessments and sensitivity analysis on service proposals in order to minimise risk and maximise the Trusts income.
Assess cross directorate impacts and manpower needs, and both revenue and capital requirements.
To co-ordinate the production of the Directorate Business Plan.
To fully cost and evaluate the implications of undertaking Research & Development projects prior to the submission.
To lead the budget setting process for the Directorate and agree budgets within agreed income levels in accordance with the Trusts financial strategy.
To maintain and develop the register of ongoing projects across the Trust.
