Job Description
As a member of Transport Exec Team, develop the business capability of Fleet/Plant/Transportation in the market place by growing operating excellence, cash revenues, reputation and the company brand, by providing proactive, strategic and professional operational direction.
Support the MD of Logistics to increase size of market and to realise future growth potential. Maximise operating efficiency in terms of process, people and systems. Implement the change management process required to develop and grow the business area.
Requirements
Proven ability and demonstrable experience of operating at a senior management level delivering service excellence to the relevant market sector;
Leadership skills and behaviours needed to manage and develop the business and management team in a diverse business and market environment;
Determination, commitment, resourcefulness and enthusiasm to drive dynamic change and achieve goals;
Clear understanding of the importance of robust business processes and systems and a strong commitment to quality;
Able to influence others through their inspirational behaviour rather than through position;
Excellent oral and written communication abilities, with effective stakeholder management;
Works openly and collaboratively;
Be a change agent;
Strong commercial and strategic acumen.
Responsibilities
Full profit and loss accountability for the relevant business area;
Prepare and deliver the business area budget and financial forecasts for short, medium and long term horizons;
Provide direction and leadership to deliver growth through leveraging existing and new business opportunities;
Work collaboratively with all senior management team members of Logistics, including support functions and other Business Streams to deliver the business plan and support the provision of end to end services;
Establish, maintain and own long term client relationships in order to raise brand awareness and secure profitable new business for Logistics and our client;
Lead the development of bid strategy and tactics and deliver bids based on an understanding of client needs: including the solutions proposal, commercial proposal and resource management;
Mentor and develop senior staff to raise commercial awareness and promote and implement best practice in business management and development;
Build an effective team and creates an environment that attracts, retains and realises the potential of the most talented employees
Lead by example and promote the company Values throughout Logistics and wider organisation.
