CFO

Our client is investing heavily in the African Mobile Telecoms market and aims to offer a truly converged service. Currently setting up operations in Central Africa, a CFO is required for a new start-up which presents an exciting and challenging opportunity. The CFO will take responsibility for the financial and legal management of the company and will work closely with the CEO to establish corporate strategic plans and objectives. The CFO will need to have significant finance experience in emerging markets, preferably Africa.
The CFO will have the following responsibilities:
• Overall direction and control of all company finance matters such as tax, currency exposure and business planning operations
• Provide accounting and tax compliance for all functions, transactions and operations in the company.
• Ensuring full legal compliance of the company
• Work with top management to determine and establish company policies and guidelines
• Direct the creation, implementation and updating of Internal Control Procedures
• Acts as overall co-ordinator and first line advisor to the CEO on all finance related matters, auditing, reporting and interpreting of results
• Direct the financing and funding of the company, driving financial contract negotiations.
• Establish executive level relationships with major partners, companies and customers regarding finance and business development matters
• Business planning to include identification and evaluation of potential deals and transactions
• Overview financial aspects of commercial management
• Create and implement accounting/finance systems, which will support a high growth, high volume retail/service provider operation
• Drive and support other functional heads with budget and business plan development
• Prepare and evaluate capital expenditure projects, long-term financial plans, forecasts and financial returns
• Analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual results and key performance indicators to enable informed decision making by management

Requirements
• Experienced CFO with 10 years experience in business and financial management positions.
• Significant experience of working in emerging markets essential and particular experience of working in Africa an advantage
• .Experienced in establishing and managing financial operations.
• Audit experience backed by operational finance management experience essential
• Strong financing, tax and financial business planning skills required.
• Must have Telecommunications Operator experience (Wire line and / or wireless)
• BS in finance/accounting, ACA or equivalent experience.
• Results oriented, focused and tenacious individual with excellent negotiation skills.
• Must be fluent in English and French - Spanish is strongly preferred
• Team leader, excellent coach and man manager.
