Our client is a privately owned (but a subsidiary of a listed) telecommunication company established in 1987. It has since evolved to become a telephone and fax carrier by developing a constantly expanding worldwide network. Their aim is to provide clients with the most competitive rates available on the market without compromising on quality or service. They are licensed by the DTI (Department of trade and industry) to provide telecommunication services in the United Kingdom. Role & Responsibilities
To lead the successful implementation of this new strategy, Swiftnet is recruiting a Channel Sales Manager. This new, high profile role will be responsible for the creation and development of a new channel to market, by establishing and growing relationships with organisations selling to businesses buying telecom services.
Key elements of the role include finding resellers, communicating what Swiftnet can do for them and developing a relationship such that whenever a customer asks a reseller for something out of the ordinary then the reseller immediately thinks of Swiftnet.
Once opportunities have been identified, it will be necessary to bring in and support other members of the Swiftnet team who will specify and manage the delivery of the custom solutions.
It is expected that once the strategy has been proven by the Channel Sales Manager, that additional sales people will be recruited to exploit the opportunity. If the right candidate is found for the role of Channel Sales Manger then the additional recruits would ideally report to the Channel Sales Manager.
The position reports directly to the Managing Director.
Experience & Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years experience in fixed telecoms and will have had previous experience of building a reseller channel for a fixed telecom network operator selling in to telecom and IT resellers selling in to business customers.
They will have a proven track record in sales and new business generation (not just account management of existing clients).
They will be experienced in setting and achieving challenging sales and profit targets.
Sales and Marketing team management experience would be an advantage.
Experience of departmental P&L responsibility would be beneficial.
Must be comfortable presenting and selling to board-level decision makers.

Qualifications
The role would suit someone who is numerate and qualified to degree level or above. The subject studied is not important.
