As an SAS Consultant you will play a key part in the delivery of SAS based solutions ranging from MI reporting solutions right through to fully blown analytical data warehouses. This role is likely to include: design, build and test of small to medium end-to-end SAS processes, design and implementation of data marts/data warehouses, design, build and test of SAS BI Solutions, performing analytics using the SAS toolkit, leadership of small teams of developers and involvement in bid response. Depending on the size of a given opportunity this role may either be client lead (fulfilling a number of roles), or working in conjunction with other specialists.
As an applicant you wil possess:
The ability to speak confidently on technical subjects with limited preparation commanding respect and authority and to liaise with clients on difficult or sensitive topics.
Familiar with one or more relational databases such as Oracle, IBM UDB, NCR Teradata, Netezza, DATAllegro, Informix, SQL Server and of analytical data stores such as SAS, Sand Technology and Alterian.
Experience of SAS programming with Base SAS
Commercial experience in the use of SAS DI Server (DI Studio) and/or SAS BI Server (Information Maps, Stored Processes, Web Report Studio, Enterprise Guide).
Familiar with the SAS9 Enterprise Intelligence Platform.
Familiar with other Extract, Transform and Load (ETL)/Data Management/Data Quality Management tools such as Informatica, PowerCenter, Ascential Data Stage, Ab Initio, Business Objects Data Integrator, Oracle Warehouse Builder, Trillium, DataFlux.
Familiar with other query / reporting tools, such as Business Objects / Crystal reports, Microsoft Reporting Services, SAS.
Experience of Experience of multi-dimensional analysis tools such as Hyperion Essbase, Microsoft Analysis Services, Oracle OLAP, SAS OLAP, Microstrategy and Cognos would be an advantage.
Experience of visualisation/specialist analytical tools & technologies would be an advantage.
An understanding of data warehousing fundamentals such as change data capture, historical data stores, enterprise layers etc
Basic understanding of operational systems concerns, including performance, capacity management, backup and resilience, and the impact of design and coding on these
