The role of Cost Engineer is an influential role within the business as the cost estimating capability underpins the company's commercial models and work and therefore has an important impact on the future direction and profitability of the business. That's why you can make a difference in this newly created role!

As a Cost Engineer, you will coordinate the output of estimators and be responsible for the integrity and accuracy of costing. You will have the opportunity to shape the global approach to standardizing estimation activities and well as improving process discipline across this function.

Whilst liaising with clients, project managers and engineers, you will take responsibility for proposal development, project forecasting and detailed product cost analysis. Additionally, the role has an important focus on contract reviews, contractual protection and contract variation.

You will have an innovative and commercial approach to bids and contracts, with the ability to assess risk and negotiate terms and conditions at a high level. You will ideally be educated to degree standard in a business or engineering discipline. Commitment to excellence and high quality standards is crucial as well as strong analytical and problem solving skills. Prior management experience has developed your performance management and leadership competencies.
