SENIOR ESTIMATOR REQUIRED FOR PRIVATELY OWNED CONSTRUCTION COMPANY
JOB ROLE - To produce and manage accurate cost estimates for the Construction Division.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Organise, plan, prioritise and monitor tender workload for self and team where responsible. Ensure that tenders and cost estimates are produced accurately to pre-determined deadlines.
Select potential subcontractor tenderers, agree invitations, obtain tenders and analyse, present comparison at tender adjudications.
Evaluate tender enquiry documentation, report on risks and produce a risk register. Produce cost estimates for resources required to complete a project, attend tender adjudication and prepare submission information with directors approval.
Identify construction factors, problems and technical requirements, consider alternatives and practicality of project scope. Access cost factors likely to impact tender costs, forecast increases anticipated in resource costs, review at tender adjudication. Maintain cost records and database to enable cost planning, provide indicative comparisons and pricing. Attend tender adjudication meeting, keep records of risks, qualifications,pricing assumptions. Attend procurement meetings and input into procedures and systems.Mentor, help, encourage and support staff allocated to the project or as line manager.Attend start up / handover meetings and brief production team on projects secured.
You would be reporting to the divisional director and would be responsible for the relationships internally between production staff, planning staff, buying staff and directors and externally with employers, consultants and suppliers.
LOCATION The successful candidate will be based at the London Head Office and the role will involve travelling to prospective sites and other Osborne / client offices.
