**EXPERIENCED SOFTWARE ARCHITECT - UML EXPERT**

A fantastic opportunity exists for a talented and driven Software Architect to join one of Europe's leading technology companies.

This position will be principally based on a £multi-million international satellite communications project and will see you responsible for ensuring that the architectural design of complex solutions is consistent with the component architecture, providing guidance and refinements on the modelling and design process and ensuring that the architecture fully covers all requirements. The Software Architect has particular responsibility for the use of UML on the project and therefore will be responsible for overseeing and advising the team on UML modelling, and maintaining model structures.

The Senior Software Architect will be expected to technically review and manage the software development lifecycle, ensuring best practise process and techniques are deployed throughout design, implementation and testing, and appropriate metrics utilised to control and monitor the integrity and maintainability of the technical solution. Both conventional and Agile development lifecycle models will be used where appropriate, and full configuration management of all versions and variants will be maintained using the Clearcase/ClearQuest tools.

My client therefore require Architects to have significant experience in Object Oriented Analysis and Design, in the application of Unified Modelling Language (UML), and have experience in Java, C++, GUI, XML or RDBMS. The Architect will have significant experience in high level design on large projects and possibly in the use of Configuration Management tools.
