THE COMPANY
The company (t/o c. £400m) is a UK division of a European-wide supplier of business products, part of an international paper and packaging group (t/o c. $20bn in 20 countries). Products are sold through more than120 stores.

THE POSITION
A highly talented Financial Controller is urgently required. He/she will be on a fast track - able to be FD in 18 months. The role reports to the FD and has 8 staff reports.  Key responsibilities:

• Deputise and support the FD.
• Ensure timely and accurate statutory and legal compliance.
• Ensure effective financial management and financial control processes, procedures and systems.

 THE CANDIDATE

• On a fast track.
• Knows tax, treasury.
• Covers closing monthly figures.
• Knowledge of US Gap
• Retail experience is not necessary.
• Proven experience of establishing robust financial controls, strong technical ability.
• Proactive.
• Strong influence on reducing costs.
• Will be working with the Business Development team.
• ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualifications.
• At least 5 years experience in senior financial role.
