A new role has been created for a South East – Wantage based Financial Director to oversee the UK financial operations of WILA. The Financial Director will be responsible for the management of the UK FC and team, provide commercial analysis and support to the UK MD and the Group CEO. The Financial Director will also act as a discussion partner/sounding board to the Finance Director in charge of the German operation.

Established 150 years ago in Germany WILA provides “Intelligent Light”, high quality commercial lighting products sold via specification to over 35 countries. WILA is now a registered UK business and its present owners have exciting growth plans to take the business from c£15 million turnover to £35 million turnover in the next ten years via both acquisitions and organic growth. Employing 130 people (95 in Germany and the remainder in the UK) WILA has its main operation in Germany and has sales & marketing and OEM manufacture in the UK. WILA also produces in the USA through licensing agreements and is in the process of setting up a branch office in the UAE.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Oversee all financial matters in the UK, including preparation of monthly management accounts, forecasting, budgeting and year end statutory procedures ensuring that appropriate controls, systems and procedures are in place.
• Preparation of consolidated group accounts
• Liaison with banks, auditors and other professional advisers
• Full responsibility for tax planning, pensions administration and corporate governance
• Provide financial expertise and support to all commercial matters as well as potential acquisitions and M&A activities
• Manage the UK finance team and provide support to the FD in Germany
• Proactively look at making improvements to current reporting processes and introduce efficiencies
Person Specification:
• Professional qualification – ACA, ACCA or CIMA
• Prior experience in an SME operation
• German language skills
• Ideally manufacturing sector background
• Ability to travel on a regular basis to Germany
• Demonstrable commercial acumen
• Excellent people and communication skills
