GENERAL MANAGER – Sports & Leisure

A market leader in the sports & leisure sector, my client owns and operates a number of race courses and leisure sites across the UK and has a reputation for delivering the highest levels of customer service and satisfaction at all times. Their sites also offer the chance to showcase and deliver brand sponsorship and often plays host to large, year-round corporate hospitality events. The chance has recently arisen for an outstanding GENERAL MANAGER to join the business and manage 2 sites.

The General Manager is responsible for all commercial and operational aspects of the business and fully Profit & Loss responsible. You will take charge of all race meetings and corporate events ensuring deliver the best possible results for your customers. Furthermore, the General Manager will be responsible for strategy, planning, personnel development and team-building, with a team of around 30 permanent members of staff, increasing to around 200 on a race day. A key part of your role will be driving corporate activity and generating the highest possible quality sponsorship portfolio.

This is a broad role for a senior executive who has broad commercial and operational experience. You must have had pervious experience in the sports or leisure industry running a multi-million pound operation with large headcount and a multi-faceted working environment. You will probably be at Director level at a sports club or a General Manager at a large hotel or allied service industry.
