This is a superb opportunity to build a new division within a £150 million manufacturing group. The client is a specialist high value holiday home manufacturing group who have a strong market leading position and the reputation for product innovation. They are seeking an Operational General Manager, who will take leadership and control of an already established business unit, manufacturing high value timber framed lodges and take it on to its next level of market leadership in this niche sector which has significant growth potential.
The role combines an interesting mix of operational management with customer service challenges. Reporting to Board level you will be responsible for ensuring that KPIs in manufacturing, customer satisfaction and post-sales fulfilment are all achieved. This will embrace key areas which also include production planning, logistics
and technical support within the sales channels. To some extent the client has an open mind. The successful candidate will be a hands-on operational professional who will have worked in a lean modern manufacturing environment, but who also understands the pressures of delivering products with demanding customer service criteria.
You are likely to be a graduate, possibly with an MBA, and have worked in a strong customer focused operation. You will have lots of project management skills and experience and be a hands-on finisher who can manage a complex organisation. Relocation will also be offered and is expected within the East Yorkshire region.
