Job Description
A professional and astute General Manager is required to provide an exceptional level of leadership and support for contract teams on the Plymouth City Council commission within our clients Local Government business stream
Requirements
Proven success in the delivery of a high quality service offering on large scale contracts
An appropriate professional qualification ( or equivalent )
The ability to operate at Senior Management level delivering service excellence
A detailed understanding of the Local Government market sector and its potential development
A clear understanding of the importance of robust business processes and systems
A proven track record in relationship building with strong client-facing skills
Outstanding leadership skills and ability to build and develop an effective, highly motivated team
Strong commercial and strategic acumen
Responsibilities
Assuming full ownership of the strategic / operational / commercial / financial goals and the Operational Policy for PCC.
Proactively driving profitability and commercial growth on the contract
Managing all operations on the contract and acting as the principle contact for the client
Assuming responsibility for the compliance with all company management, quality and HSE policies Managing the interface with the client
Developing new business opportunities as appropriate
Fulfilling all duties required of a Senior Manager related to all areas including safety, environment, staff development, Industrial Relations and organisational planning
Liaising with key business areas to ensure that common standards are formulated for new situations
Supporting other Senior Management in driving strategic change and organisational development
