GLOBAL SALES MANAGER/ MARINE NAVIGATION required for my client who is a recognised as being a world leader in the design and manufacture of marine navigation systems and the supply of navigational data including paper and electronic charts and nautical publications.
They supply their clients across the globe with navigational and tactical displays systems. From multiple displays and integrated bridge systems in capital ships to specialised systems for submarines, with their diverse product offering they can offer solutions for any naval platform. They work with Commercial, Leisure and Defence customers to provide a one stop shop solution for all their clients marine navigation requirements.
This is a demanding and rewarding role, with a large amount of customer interaction with key clients including ship owners and managers within the Commercial, Leisure and Defence Marine industry. You will be required to manage the End-User and Distributor working in partnership to develop current business whilst developing additional clients to ensure agreed revenue budgets are met.

The Opportunity
The successful candidate will be responsible for the sales of Navigation Radar, Navigation Systems, Integrated Bridge Systems and Integrated Bridge Systems, Charts & Publications supply and all navigation data to all commercial, leisure and military customers within the region.
To take ownership of the whole sales process from prospect identification, through qualification, presentation, proposals, negotiation and finally closing the sale.
The completion of post sales activities to ensure the contracted goods are delivered as contracted will also required.
Working to a CRM system to assist in the development of key clients whilst also winning new business to ensure revenue and growth targets are achieved.
Main Duties/Responsibilities
Oversee the implementation of sales policies and strategy
Prepare monthly forecast and Board Pack inputs for the Sales and Marketing Director
Regularly review SalesForce.com metrics
Maintain Price Lists
Prepare and maintain training materials
Prepare and maintain a Sales Manual
Prepare and maintain presentations
Organise training programmes
Establish and implement operating guidelines for Exhibitions
Oversee bi-annual appraisal process
Annually review job descriptions and skills matrices
Calculate quarterly bonus entitlement for salesforce
Assist in development of bonus scheme and bonus scheme metrics
In conjunction with the contracts administrator, maintain agency agreements
Coach and manage Sales Managers and overseas distributors to ensure targets for revenue and growth are achieved.
Assist with the negotiation and agreement of contracts with key clients to ensure repeat business and good profitability
Plan and execute sales activities within the Region and communicate these requirements effectively to the sales team
Ensure the companies CRM system is being used effectively by sales people to feed the sales forecast for the key business areas.
Liaise with Overseas Agents and Distributors
Maintain continuous awareness of the companies developing equipment
Provide input for Product Development and new Product design
Maintain continuous awareness of competitor and third party equipment
Attend conferences and exhibitions, meeting with customers and agents, including travel abroad when required
Provide support and input for marketing activities such as new brochures, mail shots, exhibitions etc.
Essential Requirements
Proven track record of man-management and also coaching of a successful sales team is a must
Proven track record in sales, customer accounts and ongoing customer relationship management.
Commercial acumen with experience of P&L responsibility.
Experienced with the implementation and management of a CRM system.
Strong grounding in all aspects of professional selling especially, in prospecting, needs analysis, negotiation and closing.
High level of energy, drive, enthusiasm, initiative, commitment.
Self-motivated to continuously expand personal professional knowledge.
Ability to work in a high pressured, fast moving and challenging environment.
Good organizational, planning and communication skills.
Desirable:
Knowledge of the marine navigation industry or associated industries will be acceptable.
Candidates with a strong record of man-managing and coaching a sales team to maximise results in an allied industry will also be considered.
