This major UK PLC is undergoing a revolution in how they conduct their business. They have made very substantial investments in technology and leadership and this has given them a great platform to completely re-think how their business is conducted.
This person will be a key member of the IS Leadership Team and may deputise for the CIO when required. The ideal candidate will be on a fast upward trajectory in their career as this company is keen to find someone who could step into the CIO role within a couple of years.
Responsibilities:
Manage relationships with the business.
Own the project and programme portfolio.
Be the key interface between the business and IS ensuring clarity of communication and consistency of vision.
Provide clear leadership, direction and purpose to a team of c50 project and programme managers ensuring that they achieve a strong reputation with the business.
Create a compelling vision and strategy and communicate this to all key stakeholders including direct reports, the lines of business and the wider IS function.
Implement pragmatic processes and methodologies to ensure consistency and effectiveness of change programmes.
Negotiate priorities with stakeholders, manage expectations whilst ensuring positive and productive relationships with stakeholders and customers.
Manage significant delivery resources (internal and from offshore/outsource providers).
Manage relationships with external providers ensuring smooth running of the relationship and compliance with SLAs.
Undertake coaching and development to drive a culture of continuous improvement in the performance of the team.
Skills and Experience:
Strong, team oriented, high energy personality with strong leadership skills.
Excellent all round communication and listening skills with high impact and credibility.
Proven track record of initiating and leading major change programmes in demanding, customer oriented environments.
Previous experience of leading and managing large (50+) teams engaged with multiple work streams.
Strong empathy with business has a talent for translating business needs into action and deliverables.
Has a background that includes working at a senior level (Associate Partner +) in a major consulting organisation (CGEYC, KPMG, McKinsey etc).
Strong intellect and ability to think creatively.
The ideal candidate has been on a fast track career but still has significant headroom to further develop skills and assume greater levels of responsibility.
You must be a UK / EU National or already be resident in the UK and have a current Work Permit.
