IT Systems Manager, IT Infrastructure Manager, Leeds, to £50K

COMPANY: Our client is a print and marketing support services business and is a UK listed PLC with an annual turnover of £290m, employing over 2000 staff. As a market leader they are redefining traditional print solutions by offering a totally new way of sourcing and managing print and communications and the processes around it.

ROLE: The role of IT Systems Manager is to provide, manage and develop an effective and customer focused IT service delivery team. You will be responsible for up to 5 direct reports and report to the IT Infrastructure Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES: a) Provide governance regarding IT systems for the entire group. b) Act as an IT consultant for the business, providing technical recommendations that enhance the way they operate their systems and technology. c) Ensure that they are monitoring IT systems, as well as analysing and evaluating performance. Work on resolving identified degradation trends and problem areas (Performance Management). d) Manage all aspects of team performance including the performance management process, selection, organisation and development of the team. e) Help decide, in conjunction with the wider IT governance team, which software and hardware products and other equipment are most suited for use within the company infrastructure f) Manage, monitor and maintain the IT budget for the systems team. Develop and implement initiatives to improve spend and provide savings.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: a) Experience with team management, including staffing, training, coordinating, organising, monitoring, and coaching employees, either directly or via matrix management. b) Excellent interpersonal, communication and written skills, including the ability to communicate with senior management constituency are a must for this role. c) Excellent organisational and presentational skills are also necessary to fulfil this role. d) Experience of ITIL is essential. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of managing service level life cycle elements, such as problem management, change management, configuration management and service level management using an ITIL framework. e) Information Security principals - ISO 27001, and Business Continuity Planning principals - ISO 25999 f) Good knowledge of company servers Windows/Exchange/SQL/Unix and an understanding of System backups and disaster recovery
