International Business Development Manager: Pharmaceuticals £40,000 to £50,000 plus Car, Pension, Bonus and Benefits Based in South of England
Our client is a company dedicated to the launch of generic pharmaceutical products throughout Europe. They are a fully owned subsidiary of Unichem Laboratories Limited, an Indian independent research and manufacturing company having its own active pharmaceutical ingredient plants and MHRA-approved finished-dose manufacturing units.
Their Business Development Department is responsible for the out-licensing of Generic Pharmaceuticals as described below:- - Out-licensing a range of in-house developed generic products to Multi-national and indigenous generic companies throughout Geographical Europe and other International markets. - Negotiating contracts for the use of their intellectual property and subsequent on-going product supply. - Involvement in Strategic discussions and finding new innovative ways of marketing their products across Europe and within export markets.
Role: The International Business Development manager role is as follows: - To work in close liaison with the current International Business Development Managers and the Commercial Director. - Regular and ongoing overseas travel - Involvement / liaison with customers, both new and existing - Identifying new markets / customers for the product portfolio - Involvement in implementing and monitoring of agreements already in place in addition to the negotiation of new commercial agreements. - Maintaining and improving the professionalism and focus of the Business development team.
Personal Qualities: - Self Motivator, able to work under their own initiative - Good administrative, communication and organisational skills - Ability to take on new knowledge and be flexibly minded. - Ability to cope well with multifaceted tasks and workloads - good time-management skills - Ability to understand and have empathy with overseas customers and their markets. - Numerate and able to interpret sales and market data - Experience or knowledge of generic pharmaceutical industry or related commercial field - Hands on approach - able to work in unstructured as well as structured environment - Experienced in dealing with and negotiating Commercial Contracts - Prepared to challenge existing views - Risk Aware but not risk averse - Determined to progress in the Organisation
The Person The selected candidate will have a strong commercial background and have experience in the generics / pharmaceutical or related sector. He/she will have demonstrated success in increasing sales, profitability and market share through broad commercial insights, market understanding and trading related activities. The need to influence effectively is paramount, as are strong relationship building and stakeholder management skills.
