Job Summary
Nuance is seeking an experienced licensing attorney to provide licensing support to the company's International sales team. The attorney will report to the Director, International Legal Affairs and must be well-rounded with a strong legal background, experience working with business clients and a passion for technology. Candidates must demonstrate ability to work efficiently in an individual contributor role, meeting demanding deadlines and balancing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Job Description:
You will be part of the International Legal Department where you will deal with legal issues in the field of intellectual property, commercial law, license contracts...
You will review and negotiate a wide range of sales contracts such as licensing contracts, professional services agreements, distribution contracts, etc.
The legal protection of the company, its technology and products will be guaranteed by your expertise.
You will analyze the evolution of regulations and laws and identify their consequences.
You will report to the Director of International Legal Affairs.
You will design and provide training on key areas to internal clients.
Profile:
You have a university degree in law. A specialization in Intellectual Property is an asset.
You have at least 5 years of relevant experience in a technology environment and/or IP related issues.
You have excellent contract drafting skills.
You have the ability to draft, negotiate and close large software deals including large enterprise licenses with C-Level executives.
You have software and intellectual property licensing expertise
You have a sound knowledge of the principals of US GAAP and the revenue recognition rules within the software industry
You are familiar with copyright and trademark laws and principles; and have an understanding of patent laws
Your knowledge of legal issues is up to date and you inform yourself about the latest developments in the legal domain.
You are fluent in written and spoken English and IT-literate. Good knowledge of Dutch is considered a plus.
You enjoy working in a rapidly changing environment.
You are a true team player but are also able to work independently.
You are a good communicator. Consequently, you have proven that you can easily translate legal concepts into easy to follow guidelines for business colleagues.
You are well organized and stress resistant.
You show attention to detail and a rigorous legal analysis. At the same time you are practical and creative in suggesting implementation of solutions.
