THE CLIENT
Spanish pharmaceutical company that develops and manufactures urology, rheumatology and CNS (SNC) ethical and hospital products. Annual sales c. 25m (2007), c. 160 staff.
THE ROLE - R&D PHARMACEUTICAL DEVELOPMENT/INNOVATION SCIENTIST * Reports to the R&D Director.
* Key tasks: improve, reformulate and reposition current products, review new and/or existing product formulations, propose the application of new delivery system technologies and develop patent strategies.
* Based in Barcelona, some travel required.
KEY COMPETENCIES
* Networked throughout the pharma industry and relevant research groups.
* Commercially aware, highly motivated to set up new - and improve existing - projects and collaborations.
* Strong interpersonal, organisational and communication skills, team-oriented.
* Can operate within a complex but reduced multidisciplinary environment.
* Fluent English (written and spoken). Spanish would be an asset.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
* Academic degree in pharmacy or chemistry.
* Proven track record in pharmaceutical development, project management, process transfer, pre-formulation techniques and the use of experimental design.
* Experience and interest in paediatric formulation development would be an asset.
* Advanced knowledge of drug development process, GMP/CMC and regulatory requirements.
* Knowledge/experience of the patent process/databases
