An exciting development has presented itself for a successful Planning and Operations Manager to join a leading 3PL in a newly created role. Reporting to the Head of their 4PL division this role will be key to the delivery of their 4PL business propositions. You will be responsible for the management of haulier contracts including negotiations, liaising with the customers and the Hauliers, focusing on delivery of results, maximising profitability and developing sustainable customer and haulier relationships.
Key Accountabilities include: and#61607;Working with business development and implementations teams participate in preparation of commercial propositions for new and existing customers. and#61607;Reviewing and analysing contract performance with customers, recommending and initiating improvement plans where appropriate. and#61607;Identify and recommend business development and improvement opportunities within customer operations where applicable. and#61607;Ensuring that customers are kept fully informed about issues that affect contract performance. and#61607;Ensure delivery of the operation against commercial contracts and agreements. and#61607;Managing relationships effectively to ensure productive working relationships within the Platform, with customers and with Hauliers. and#61607;Monitoring financial performance, implementing corrective actions where appropriate and maximising the contribution for the division. and#61607;Monitoring compliance to legislative and Standard Operating Procedures, initiating corrective actions and process improvement where appropriate. and#61607;Analyse agreed KPI information to ensure optimal efficiency and performance. and#61607;Work closely with the Regional Managers to ensure operational plans are developed and implemented in line with business objectives
The successful candidate will have significant operational experience within the 3rd party distribution industry. Practical experience in managing logistics projects and involvement in implementations is essential. You must be able to demonstrate a practical understanding of 4PL environment and have excellent presentation skills, verbal and written, in order to deliver to both internal and external contacts. Ideally you will have strong people/team management skill and a working knowledge of transport planning operations and systems.
