Project & programme Managers - LAW ENFORCEMENT
My client has extensive experience in the national security market, which has been developed over more than 30 years. Within this market their National Security Business unit works with a wide range of clients to address some of the most challenging information problems. Problems that affect the delivery of critical services for the protection of national interests at home and overseas.
They provide technical and management consultancy to enable clients to operate effectively. They also deliver specialised solutions, characterised by high performance and innovation, using a combination of consultancy, software and hardware.
Many areas of this market have very high barriers and my client is one of the few trusted suppliers.
We are looking for people that have ideally come from a Law enforcement or Lawful intercept background, MOD, national security or central government if not a telecommunications, networking, IP or datwarehousing background.
Essential skills
Track record of successfully managing fixed price and T&M systems integration projects of at least £5m
Experience of full lifecycle multi-stream programmes with significant sofware / database / interfacing / development; business continuity ie. Management of the full journey plan.
Experience of leading integrated teams (client supplier and third parties) of at least 25 people where sub projects and sub-teams require leadership and management.
Experience of working successfully with clients (up to senior management) on a daily basis and capable of managing difficult client situations.
Responsibilities
Reporting and liaising with delivery managers for all aspects of project delivery, including team leading, maintaining client relationships, managing the commerical aspects of projects, managing change and handling difficult client situations.
Candidates need to be versatile enough to tackle primarily complex projects but also could do delivery management and account management.
Candidates need to have a desire to continue managing projects and be presentable and credible with an air of gravitas to appear credible to clients in heavy hitting roles.
Highly desirable:
Experience in a variety of methodologies such as DSDM, Prince 2, RUP
Experience of requirements gathering and management
Experience of managing multiple subcontractors and 3rd parties
Experience of managing significant scope change
commercial management experience and experience of negotiating contract
Desirable:
experience working with National security clients, central government or MOD.
Prince 2 certified
CMMI literate
Experience of business consulting engagements such as strategy generation, business case creation and benefits delivery management.
