A rare opportunity has arisen to join a well established contract magazine publisher as a Publishing Director. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for not only the strategic development of the publishing department, but also all commercial aspects. Being a key member of the senior management team, this is an outstanding and challenging role, with opportunity to achieve client service levels to the highest standards. The Publishing Director will work together with the Client, Editor, Creative Director, Editorial Director and Advertising Director to determine the positioning of each title, and in addition to this, managing and implementing budgets will be a key aspect to the role.

With the relevant account team, the Publishing Director will develop a 1-3 year business strategy for each account with the strategy including opportunities for organic growth as well as identifying new business opportunities from existing clients. While reporting to the Managing Director and Board on weekly targets, a key point operational report and account progress will be expected.

With this publishing house having a people and customer orientated culture, the successful individual should be able to not only bring in fresh ideas but also acknowledge and build upon the existing strengths of the organisation and publications. The Publishing Director will be able to illustrate a thorough understanding of both customer and news trade magazine publishing, be a strategic thinker with the ability to control an overall strategy across a portfolio of titles.
