An opportunity has now arisen for a Senior Health and Safety Advisor / Health and Safety Manager.

In this role you will be responsible for planning practical and effective methods of promoting health and safety and safe working practices in response to key risks within our client’s group. You will also support the Health and Safety Director to provide a safety culture that delivers a strong safety brand, protects individuals from the risk of injury, and ensures legal compliance.

As the Senior Health and Safety Advisor / Health and Safety Manager your duties will include:

- ensuring Health and Safety policies, procedures and risk assessments are properly implemented and maintained
- producing accident statistics, audit results and trend analysis reports
- providing leadership to the team and promoting the role of Health and Safety to management
- liaising with the Incident Support Centre and ensuring Telephone Operatives are trained appropriately
- creating and delivering safety initiatives and advisory literature

Additionally, you will have overall responsibility for identifying and assessing the development needs of the operational workforce, and for working with Health and Safety Advisors and training providers to design, co-ordinate and implement effective training programmes. This is a field based role therefore a full UK driving licence is required.

To succeed as the Senior Health and Safety Advisor / Health and Safety Manager you will have a detailed and comprehensive knowledge of Health and Safety compliance and statutory requirements, as well as extensive practical safety management and delivery experience. You must also have an MIOSH qualification, and the seniority and personal gravitas to influence at director level.

Additionally, you will need to demonstrate an analytical approach to problem solving and decision making, and a high level of numeracy and literacy. Your ability to demonstrate proactive customer relationship management and effective relationship building is also essential.
