The Promethean Group employs a total of 600 people worldwide in the development, manufacture, sale, marketing and support of interactive whiteboards and associated interactive learning solutions, which are sold primarily to schools and other educational institutions.

The head office is based in Blackburn, Lancashire where 400 people are employed in a variety of functions including, customer service, engineering, sales and marketing. The turnover of the Group is approximately £100 million per annum. Manufacturing is carried out in China.

The Software Product Manager will be expected to have a vision for their products development and create ground breaking ideas to keep Promethean software in advance of the competition, while fully meeting the needs of their target customers and users.

The post holder will manage the lifetime commercial sucess of the software product portfolio, acting as the product champion within the company. The Product manager will be expected to take into account their products as part of a total classroom solution and meets customers needs worldwide.

Core functions are to conceive, evaluate and determine new products and new product features. To be the 'market expert' in the area of responsibility, understanding customers current and future requirements and the anlaysis of competitors position within the marketplace. To play a key influnetial role in company business planning and product strategy and be the principle " knowlege owner" for nominated products.
