Our client, a East Anglian NHS Organisation, is currently seeking a Senior Public Health Project Manager. Reporting on an interim basis of 6 months to the Director of Public Health, you will be responsible for strategic development and performance management of health improvement programmes in line with national targets and local assessment of needs.
This will include; - Advising on delivery, commissioning, and evaluation of programmes that focus on health improvement and tackling health inequalities for the local population.
- Encouraging and maintaining partnerships with other statutory and non-statutory agencies and local businesses within the organisation in order to deliver strategies to address the wider determinants of health.
- Providing specialist public health expertise in relation to health improvement and the wider determinants of health in all aspects of partnership with the Local Authority.
- Providing public health expertise in the development, delivery and evaluation of the Local Area Agreement in order to achieve health improvement in all aspects of the wider determinants of health.
- Have the strategic lead role within Public Health for the organisation, working in partnership with local authorities in a number of areas which include the following:
Adult Obesity: reviewing the strategy and improving health inequalities
Childhood obesity: and reduction of health inequalities therein
Antenatal breastfeeding: promotion in maternity and reduction of birth defects through proper screening.
Our client requires that the post holder be in possession of a degree in a subject relevant to public health, along with
- Substantial experience of working in health improvement at management level in NHS or Local Authority.
- Experience developing and implementing health improvement strategies addressing the wider determinants of health and health inequalities.
- Development and performance management of a range of health improvement strategies.
- Breadth of experience of developing and delivering public health needs assessment across care groups and for neighbourhoods.
- Practical understanding of the concepts of social inclusion and the impact of the wider determinants of health.
