Competent UNIX Sys Admin, sysadmin, UNIX SA, AIX system administrator, AIX systems administrator, UNIX systems engineer, System Engineer needed to provide UNIX Administration for IBM`s AIX system to assist in providing expert knowledge, guidance and solutions to complex system tasks - essentially to support the day to day runnings of the UNIX/AIX system for a financial and banking software provider.

The UNIX Sys Admin, sysadmin, UNIX SA, AIX system administrator, AIX systems administrator, UNIX systems engineer, System Engineer must have broad experience and knowledge of Unix flavours and must have IBM`s - AIX tools, systems and procedures experience, ideally with shell scripting skills. The x must be an analytical problem solver. X with competent skills in all forms of UNIX and IBM`s AIX systems, Linux, Sun HP, DELL etc, is highly advantageous.

The UNIX Sys Admin, sysadmin, UNIX SA, AIX system administrator, AIX systems administrator, UNIX systems engineer, System Engineer will be supporting all internal end users of Operating systems and software and will be responsible for the following: planning, implementing, and administering a 7x24 IT infrastructure, primerily UNIX / AIX and local and wide-area networks. (LAN), WANs and regional servers, security and system backups, Upgrading, troubleshooting, maintaining network clustered SANs. Shell scripting (writing and debugging)

- ksh, csh, sh, bash, or Perl. Also upgrading of desktops and laptops, Investigate all reported problems, ensure escalation and solution of support requests, implementations of procedures, backup and log-verifications are followed. The UNIX Sys Admin, sysadmin, UNIX SA, AIX system administrator, AIX systems administrator, UNIX systems engineer, System Engineer will also assist the Regional IT Manager and recommend improvements to the server room management to improve operational efficiency, oversees ongoing administrative duties : backup and recovery, OS patch management, Anti-Virus and Anti-Spam initiatives, share after hours on-call responsibilities with other networking staff, maintain physical server room operation including cabling, power and rack space management. Essentially implement, administrate and recommend improvements.
