The Software Development Manager will undertake Team Leader and Management responsibilities across the Development Team. Developing high quality leading edge software based products that delight the company’s customers. The Software Development Manager will cover all elements of the product development cycle for new product features including software design, specification, end 2 end experience and integration with 3rd party partners. The role will also involve secondary tasks of testing, managing external testing partners and providing guidance to second line support. Other responsibilities will include scoping new projects with hands on participation, formalising project requirements and determining project timelines. The Software Development Manager will directly interface with major customers to troubleshoot production and development issues, serving as the penultimate escalation contact.

Requirements:

• Experience leading a software development team in fast moving environments
• Comprehensive understanding programming principles
• Experience programming in C /PHP, DHTML, CSS and JavaScript
• Experience writing AJAX enabled apps
• Advanced knowledge of Web protocols and programming requirements
• Experience building highly interactive & trafficked, database driven web applications
• Heavy use of current web technologies mainly XML and SOAP-based web services
• Good understanding of security principles and implementation
• Knowledge of SIM/ Smartcard based technologies
