Technical Manager - Climate Change & Renewables

Due to exciting growth within their Climate Change & Renewables division, they are currently looking to recruit a Technical Manager for their Buildings Energy Department.
Role will be based either at their offices in Oxford OR London.
The Role
This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of high profile clients & projects both in the private and public sector. Current projects and clients include numerous building energy certificate projects, regeneration projects, carbon management projects, renewable energy buildings projects as well as many others.
Education & Qualifications
The ideal candidate is likely to hold an Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or environmental degree (or equivalent) with a buildings and/or energy focus.
This may be complimented by a post graduate degree or diploma in an appropriate discipline i.e. building services (mechanical electrical), building design or carbon management however this is not a pre-requisite.
Professional membership (i.e. chartered engineer) preferred.
BREEAM accreditation or membership of the CIBSE/EI or equivalent would be advantageous as well as being a Qualified SAP assessor.
Experience & Skills
The ideal applicant will have considerable experience of working within a commercial or consulting environment.
Knowledge of building energy demand/ modelling, M&E services, HVAC, lighting, buildings controls engineering in one or more sectors and energy engineering is essential.
Will be familiar with aspects of on-site process engineering.
Experience is required of working on SAP, Buildings Regulations, energy management, energy demand assessment, HVAC, Buildings Regulations achievement and commercial buildings energy ratings.
Specific knowledge should also include EPBD and implementation, Part L (&J) building regulations and implementation, local and regional planning processes with regard to housing and commercial developments, sustainable energy and sustainable procurement, Building design (active and passive) for energy optimization, Building Management systems, HVAC and Hot water heating systems and sizing buildings for energy demands.
Candidates will be required to demonstrate their depth and breadth of experience by demonstrating their expertise and track record in the implementation of renewable energy projects.
An understanding of planning process and barriers in renewables implementation is required.
Strong project management skills.
A flexible attitude, enthusiasm and entrepreneurial flair are all essential along with the ability to work under pressure.
A driving licence is required.
