My client a leading Blue Chip technology firm based in Frimley, Surrey are looking to recruit a UK Head of Project and Export Finance. The role is available with an immediate start and comes with an attractive salary and package.

This person will head up the Project and Export team. Duties will include:

Formulating innovative financial and commercial strategies for PPP and major industrial projects.

Developing middle and big ticket leasing structures and the commercial terms of managed service contracts.

Providing strategic advice to the UK board on project finance and risk mitigation in related supply contracts.

Structuring complex limited recourse transactions, sourcing competitive debt and equity finance.

Structuring and arranging export credits from Export Credit Agencies and related commercial loans in support of exporting opportunities.

Developing relationships with key lending banks, lessors and equity investors..

Maximising the performance of the staff in the department by providing leadership, coaching and appropriate development opportunities

Pro-actively participating in and ensuring effective processes for risk management exist for internal control, audit, tax, financial reporting and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance purposes

Ensuring the profitability of the department by securing advisory retainers/success fees.

The position is principally Frimley based but involves regular travel within the UK and to Germany.

Ideal candidates will need:

Education

A degree or equivalent is essential and a post graduate professional qualification (i.e. MBA) is desirable.

Skills and Experience

Strong experience of financial structuring and commercial experience, directly working in a project environment, ideally for a major contractor, bank or leading consultancy.

Extensive knowledge of PPP bidding procedures and practices, SoPC4 contract terms, leasing and banking terms and the policies and procedures of Export Credit Agencies

Strong financial modelling skills and knowledge of project and export financing and guarantee instruments.

Extensive contacts in the project lending, equity and leasing business.

Ability to communicate effectively at director level.

Previous staff management experience leading and building successful teams
