A London-based international policy Think-Tank, is currently seeking to employ a Chief Operating Officer to manage core operations and contribute to the strategic direction of the organisation.
The position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced and growing organisation and to engage in the field of international relations and European affairs, including interaction with policy, media and academic networks at the very highest levels.
Responsibilities of the role shall include:
- Oversee and manage the Scholarships and Leadership Programme.
- Run a number of annual high-level conferences and policy meetings in the UK and internationally.
- Provide strategic input to the Executive Director and senior management team.
- Implement and direct future Institute programmes.
- Oversee the Institute`s finances, monitoring existing budgeting and reporting systems.
- Manage stakeholder relations including reviewing proposals and reports.
- Manage strategic partnerships and represent the Institute at relevant external and Institute organised events.
Ideal candidates will have the following skills:
- Management experience in either the public or private sectors ideally working on international or European programmes/accounts;
- A proven track record in financial and people management;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills (English language);
- Strong familiarity with the policy and think tank worlds;
- Genuine interest in, and understanding of, European and International Affairs;
- Knowledge of French and/or German would be an asset; Polish, Italian, Spanish and Russian also of interest.
The successful candidate will be a flexible self-starter with a proven track record in management and a strong interest in European/International Relations. Backgrounds in areas ranging from government and the charities or think tank worlds, to Public Affairs and international business are deemed appropriate.
Experience working in the public sector is essential.
