Commodity Sourcing Manager - CAPEX


Northamptonshire / £40000 - £50000 per annum + company car, bonus, pension and healthcare

Purpose of the Role:

Ensure that the Global manufacturing and branch capital equipment are procured in an efficient, professional and cost-effective manner in order to create and sustain a competitive advantage, thereby contributing to company profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and submit regional / global commodity sourcing strategies for both manufacturing and branch capital equipment for approval by the Regional Sourcing Leader / VP Source and key stakeholders VP for Manufacturing and VP for Branch.

2. Lead cross-functional teams to achieve cost reduction targets for the capital equipment, while maintaining supply reliability and delivery of the required innovation / commodity plan.

3. Advise Global Source management and key stakeholders on global supplier network capabilities, commodity/spend category trends and industry best practices.

4. Ensure the timely negotiation of all agreements including, but not limited to, Strategic Sourcing Agreement.

5. Serve as the lead in all mediation and problem resolution relating to suppliers, time-lines, and interpretation of contracts/agreements/specifications.

6. Oversee the review, coordination, and administration of purchase contracts at the corporate level in the company - within authority limits.

   

7. Work in conjunction with business units and suppliers to identify new capital equipment to be strategically sourced. Execute early supplier selection to support the stakeholder requirements / commodity plan.

8. Evaluate supplier capabilities and establish sources for new technologies in new markets as business requirements dictate.

9. Responsible for the supplier management process, supplier selection, supplier rating, supplier development, supplier reduction and supplier performance evaluation.

Skills and Competencies:

* Production or mechanical engineering degree. * 4 to 8 years` professional experience in an engineering management role, within a relevant industry (FMCG). * Advanced problem-solving and decision-making abilities. * Working knowledge of specific commodities and spend categories. * Able to work in diverse environments and adhere to highest ethical standards. * Demonstrated ability to work in and lead cross-functional teams. * Ability to develop, lead and implement improvement strategies/change programs. * Demonstrated ability to influence, gain acceptance and maintain ongoing support from key stakeholders for change programs.
