JOB PURPOSE
To lead the creation and implementation of an integrated external communications strategy (including PR, & media relations) to drive delivery of the company's mission, sales and company brand recognition. Ensure external communications are consistent and meet the needs of targeted audiences.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and ensure delivery of an external communications strategy.
Support and advise the Head of Marketing & Communications, Head of Sales and brand marketing and sales teams on communications issues to enable them to develop appropriate marketing and sales communications.
Lead and manage key cross-company projects eg. the AGM.
Lead and develop the communications team.
KEY EXPERIENCE
Minimum 5 years’ PR and communications experience.
Track record of effectively utilising the whole range of communications tools including, advertising and PR, networks, databases, direct marketing, digital and viral marketing, sponsorship, competitions, promotions and events.
Track record of consumer engagement through using new digital techniques to develop new relationships.
Experience of the development , environmental and sustainability sectors and understanding of how these agendas can be benefitted through equitable trade
Excellent written and oral communication and editing skills. Able to develop clear messages and deliver them simply, innovatively and with impact.
Knowledge and experience of working with PR agencies.
Knowledge and expertise in media engagement techniques and experience of working with journalists and engaging the media in an effective way.
