Our client, a North East England NHS Primary Care Trust, is seeking to recruit a Contract and Performance Manager, reporting on a temporary basis to the Commissioning Manager.
They are looking for the candidate to negotiate and manage contracts for a range of services/organisations, particularly performance monitoring and management issues, working closely with the PCT Performance Management Team where issues of performance are sufficiently key to require remedial action. Ensuring contracts are consistent with national guidelines and that external advice is sought where process/organisations/issue requires best practice or implementation of service changes.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Lead on contract discussions and performance management issues so that critical issues are highlighted and (if possible) resolved at an early stage. Provide resolutions/remedies in conjunction with providers to resolve potential problem areas in a timely manner.
- Develop robust contract reporting processes for all organisations involved. Develop reporting mechanisms and develop simple templates for electronic delivery of contract monitoring data.
- Lead on the identification of issues/gaps/reviews of service delivery for a portfolio of contracts.
- Support the Commissioning Manager in effective management of the contract support team, responsible for daily management of individual members of the Team.
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience and knowledge of health care issues particularly related to community services.
- Experience of working with NHS and voluntary sector organisations.
- Experience of budget management for a service.
- Understanding of Tendering process within health or social care setting.
