Control / Design Engineer – mechanical / applied IT

Our client is a globally recognised subsidiary of a $27 billion global corporation. They produce complex security enabled artefacts and identity management solutions. As part of a significant expansion due to their successful tendering on £multi-million contracts for national and international governments, the organisation recognises a requirement for a seasoned Control / Design Engineer.
The main focus of this role is to participate as part of a architecture and design team in a bid / pre-sales environment to design both prototypes and full post bid projects from inception to completion. This involves interpreting design input information to produce control system designs and produce design and manufacturing programmes.
You will develop and qualify product designs and documents (i.e. instructions, procedures, specifications and drawings) for the manufacturing plant to implement, whilst ensuring the solution meets the requirements of the project.
To perform the job successfully, you should demonstrate excellent project management skills as well as the ability to deal with all levels within a business. Your adaptability, team-oriented working ethic and ability to adopt new ideas and quickly learn a diverse range of identity management solutions are crucial to your success in this position.
You have a strong background in a similar role in either a mechanical ore electrical engineering background or are likely to understand PLC systems / integrated IT / Manufacturing systems design. Candidates with previous exposure in designing new (security) print plant and machinery processes / layouts are encouraged to apply. Similarly experience in fast moving automated production environments such as electronics, automotive, aerospace, defence sectors, or embedded / IT enabled products etc would be encouraged to apply.
