Our client, a North East England NHS Hospital Trust, is seeking to recruit a Divisional Manager for their Pathology Division, reporting on a permanent basis to the Chief of Service for Pathology.

Dynamic and forward-thinking managers are invited to join the Trust in this senior Divisional General Manager position and be part of an exciting time in the organisation`s development as they work towards Foundation Trust status. In this challenging role you will be expected to maintain and develop the successes of the Division in providing an efficient and responsive service across the full range of specialities.

The Division controls a budget of £15 million with a workforce of 235 whole time equivalents, including 20 Consultant medical staff.

An extensive range of services are provided in response to the needs of secondary and tertiary services in the hospital as well as meeting the needs of a primary care population of 400,000.

The Division is in the process of installing state of the art equipment and is a 'lean` organisation.

The successful candidate should have significant senior general management experience and be able to combine developed operational and people management skills with a strategic vision for the development of acute hospital services. You will also be expected to develop service improvement and have a record for achieving key access and quality targets. An ability to develop and maintain relationships with clinical colleagues and leaders across the Trust is essential.
