About the Job 

Our client are a major environmental and renewable energy consultancy with a huge and growing customer base throughout the south of England. Currently running as a not for profit organisation they have doubled their turnover in 1 year and have a huge opportunity in the market. Due to this growth they are moving to a more commercial model and consequently are looking for a commercially minded business manager or Principle consultant to head up the practice.

The ideal candidate will have a background in managing a team of 10 plus consultants within the Renewables Energy, Environmental Management or Engineering arena.

Key Responsibilities:

Successfully manage and inspire the technical team - contributing to their personal development, excellent leadership, regular training and performance management.
Responsible for generating new business relationships and negotiating new revenue to agreed targets.
Develop and implement sales strategies for the business - planning, managing and reporting on sales; account management strategies and implement sales initiatives throughout the year.

· Identifying and pursuing business opportunities

· Assisting with marketing the planning services

· Preparing Expressions of Interest

· Preparing tender documents

· Assembling project teams in response to internal or external client requirements

· Managing projects from inception to completion

· Providing a planning input to projects managed by others

· Obtaining client feedback

· Networking with other business units

· Providing support to other divisions on technical matters and CPD

· Assisting the Directors with matters operations management

· Representing the division at internal management meetings where required
