We are recruiting for a Business Services Manager for the UK's largest provider of employment opportunities for disabled people. The organisation supports over 5,500 people with a range of physical, mental and sensory disabilities or health conditions to find and retain work and gain financial independence with mainstream employers.
The Business Services Manager is a new post and will provide leadership to both managers and staff within our clients specialist Development Services team and will lead the delivery of services to the business from a PR, political, project and operational perspective.
The services offered by your department will enable employees in a site based position, or on a contract with a host employer, to maximise their potential within a position at our clients business, or in mainstream employment as appropriate.
You will manage the performance of the delivery team, ensuring it meets its targets for delivering services including outplacement support, other project deliverables and placements, on time and within budget.
Responsibilities of the role will include:
*To provide clear leadership, guidance, and support to the managers and their remote teams, enabling them to understand and meet key performance indicators and targets required by the business and ensuring barriers to achieving set performance targets are overcome. *To ensure appropriate resource and support to maximize progression of employees, or improve recovery rates, achieving maximum independence possible for the employee and minimum cost liability for the organisation. *To ensure processes are delivered to standard and to contribute to process design and continuous improvement of services delivered by the division. *To ensure that political and PR opportunities are maximised both internally and externally taking a proactive approach when appropriate.
The successful candidate will have the following experience:
*A strong proven track record in management, in a leadership role. *Experience in internal and external communications *Significant knowledge and understanding of recruitment and employment legislation relating to the provision of employees working on the premises of external employers (host companies). *Significant experience of Employment Law and HR policies. *Experience of compiling operational plans and producing resource, project and capacity plans. *Demonstrable experience of leading, managing and developing remote teams. *Knowledge of the DDA and impact of disability in the workplace.

*Influencing and negotiation skills *PR or Media training or experience *Excellent communication skills *Strong leadership and interpersonal skills *Ability to plan and organise people, workloads and business plans to meet operational targets and deadlines. *Strong commercial awareness with the ability to anticipate and understand the impact of activity on both the company and its political and non political stakeholders *The ability to analyse financial data and make decisions based upon findings and conclusions. *Computer literate with experience of using the Microsoft Office Suite. *Ability to travel independently throughout the UK.
