My client a leading Bank in Saudi Arabia are currently looking to recruit a Financial Controller with a specific focus on Policies and Controls. This role has been created as part of their ongoing expansion, due to which the successful candidate can expect the opportunity to expand and develop their team as well as in time their own career.

The main responsibilities for this role are:

• Ensure that the Bank adopts the appropriate accounting policies from both business and generally accepted accounting principles
• Ensure awareness of best practice and implementation of new standards,
• Develop Benchmarks, check-lists and monitoring processes, and development of accounting policy manual of the Bank in accordance to the best practices.
• Assist the bank to identify, apply and explain Financial and Accounting Policies in accordance with generally applied accounting principles (GAAP) through adhering to local (SAMA/ CMA) and international regulatory requirements (IAS/ IFRS).

You will require knowledge of:

• Excellent knowledge of international / local accounting and reporting standards including US GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley (SOX), IAS and IFRS, and Basel II. Sama and CMA experience is preferred.
• Extended experience in preparing financials and related disclosers for publication.
• Ability to expertly analyze and implement new accounting and reporting standards as required..
• Good background on regulatory reporting requirements in banking industry.
• Detailed knowledge about banking products, especially Treasury, Investment and Islamic products.
• Fluency in English is a must and bi-lingual candidates with Arabic is preferable.
