Our client, one of Europe`s leading providers of rail infrastructure services, is currently recruiting for a Head Estimator and Tender Co-ordinator to shape their expanding business. The Head Estimator and Tender Co-ordinator will be responsible for the functioning, and continual improvement of the tendering, bidding and planning processes for rail infrastructure projects throughout the UK and Europe. The successful individual will therefore have a proven track record of leading successful high value bids and tenders; previously having worked as a senior level estimator, while demonstrating a real determination to make a difference to a company, exercising business focus to achieve sustainable growth and development. The Head Estimator and Tender Co-ordinator will have the ability to provide management expertise and business direction to Bidding Managers and other company employees involved in the tendering process while inspiring enthusiasm in company employees to achieve excellence. Their ambition will have a positive impact on the business going forward, inspiring drive and enthusiasm within their team and interfaces. The Head Estimator and Tender Co-ordinator will come from a Rail Infrastructure background, and will demonstrate understanding of the railway construction industry-in areas such as civil engineering, signalling, telecommunications and track. The successful individual will probably come from a time served background, or will hold an engineering or QS

qualification at degree level or equivalent. However, although they will have technical ability and understanding their main strengths will be the ability to achieve in a senior management role, and apply experience in areas such as cost benchmarking and provision of work estimates to win high value bids and tenders for the company. In doing so, they will contribute to the growth and development of the business both externally, and internally in the context of continual improvement. An existing network would be advantageous, and excellent market awareness is essential. The Head Estimator and Tender Co-ordinator will demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to liaise at all levels, deliver successful and interesting presentations, and negotiate in Joint Ventures where necessary. The successful candidate will have won business from delivering passionate presentations, and will demonstrate professionalism at all times.
