Our client is a global engineering business and part of a larger Global group of companies. They have a global turnover of £260 million and employ 2000 people. They are the world`s leading provider in their industry and principally supply the oil and gas, mining and general engineering markets. They operate a group structure headed from the states and are broken into 3 business groups globally these being, UK, Europe and Far East, US and New Zealand, each having it`s own management team and structure.

As Manager of Market Intelligence you will be responsible for developing and reviewing competitive intelligence on a global basis. You will monitor worldwide and regional industry conditions and forecasted growth rates in major market sectors. You will work closely with sales and marketing teams to conduct market research and travel to field locations to understand end user need, buying patterns and preferences.

You will be qualified to degree level in marketing, finance or similar and have significant proven experience in marketing, involving market research and market quantification. Thorough knowledge of market research techniques is essential, as is managing and working with external market research organisations. A willingness to travel is important, as international travel will feature regularly.
