Mental Capacity Act/Deprivation of Liberties Inter
Surrey / £45000 - £50000 per annum + pro-rata
My client based in South London is looking for an experienced project lead to coordinate and develop a meaningful response to the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberties legislation. You MUST have a sound knowledge of these areas of legislation to apply for this role, and of key legislation in relation to mental health issues and safeguarding adults, also an awareness of racial diversity issues and factors affecting access to mental health care.
The post holder will be required to coordinate and project manage implementation of the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberties within the Boroughs Health and Social Care Economy, ensuring that information is available for users, families and carers and the public about the Act.
Main duties will be: *Scope demand for MCA/DOL`s within the local area to inform business planning and compliance with the letter of the law. *Ensure that staff who have responsibility to work within the requirements of the MCA develop an understanding of their roles and responsibilities. *Prepare and agree practice and procedural guidance for staff with an identified role within the Act and ensure that this dovetails with current paperwork and processes. *To identify training and workforce development needs for a range of staff and agree a Training Strategy to meet these needs.
To apply for this role you must have: *Health or social care background, along with a legal knowledge of Mental Health Law. *Extensive and proven track record of delivering projects on time within the legislative context. *Experience working with and addressing issues of diversity. *Experience of working in managing complex environments/relationships within health and social care. *Experience of developing and carrying out research projects. *Sound working knowledge of Mental Capacity Act and deprivation of Liberties Legislation. *An understanding of the relationship between primary/secondary care, health services and the local authority.
