Middle Office Manager - Global Markets and Rates

My client is a market leading Local GCC Bank with exciting plans for it's development and expansion. They are currently recruiting for a Manager in their Middle Office function, specifically focussing on Global Markets and Fixed Income Rates.

In this role, your main resposibilities will be to:

- Build a strong working relationship with front office; provide support and independent control over their trading activities
- Manage and establish team to support daily processing and projects for Front Office, ensuring transparency of service to clients, Front Office and across all departments
- Play an integral part in the growth and development of the business by improving Front to Back operational efficiencies, controls and mitigate operational risk
- Ensure strong governance environment is maintained (client queries, position breaks and audit issues addressed)
- Co-ordinate, support and manage new business initiatives related to expanding the breadth of products traded by the business (analysis, proposal documentation)
- Implementation, validation, and testing of middle office & data functionality in Calypso
- Centralise and maintain Market and Static Data in all systems.
- Ensure integrity and accuracy of trade validation, position reconciliation and escalation of breaks across all asset classes in a timely manner
- Generate reports for management on Key Performance Indicators (KPI) eg Cancel & Corrects, Late trades, duplicate trades etc

    - Implement and maintain the Policy & Procedures for Global Markets & Treasury
-  Build relationships with front office and establish Middle Office support & controls ensuring compliance in all tasks and enforcing processes to international standards

Additionally, you will also be required to assist on ad-hoc projects across the business function for which good change management and project management experience would be extremely useful.

The key skills required are:

- Graduate degree with 6-8 years experience in the Investment Banking Industry in an International Bank
- Should possess sound knowledge of basic understanding of financial products in particular derivatives.
- Commercial acumen, an enquiring mind and an understanding of the market and financial dynamics would be a distinct advantage.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability to effectively deal with people at various levels and a wide range of situations. 
- Diligent, efficient and able to manage multiple conflicting deliverables including working under pressure, and within an unstructured environment.
- Prepared to be in the front line - handle queries and proactively handle issue resolution.
- Question existing procedures, being able to point out weaknesses and suggest improvements challenging the status quo as necessary.
